We've been getting asked a lot of questions lately: Why is our Blighty Booch Kombucha so delicious? So smooth? So clear? How did we get that rich colour?

Well, we'll let you in on a little secret. Ok, it's not a secret, we outright brag about it all the time.

Unflavoured Kombucha only has a few ingredients.

  • Water - we use Snowdonia Mountain water in our little "boochery" at the mouth of the Conwy River Valley
  • Sugar - ours is organic cane sugar from Brazil
  • Tea - Blighty Brew Organic Whole Leaf Tea

All this is fermented with SCOBY - Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast to make a delicious and naturally carbonated drink.

So if one of these ingredients is sub-par then you are really going to notice. When we started making our own kombucha we found that the quality of the tea made a huge difference. Teabags from the supermarket are literally the sweeping off the factory floor. So we started importing Organic Single-Estate Whole-leaf and Bud Tea from Hunan. The difference was shocking...and delicious.
