Store your SCOBY in a warm, clean environment for optimal fermentation. For consistent quality, we recommend using organic unrefined cane sugar and quality loose-leaf teas in your brewing process.
Blighty Baby – Kombucha Brewing Guide
Kombucha brewing is the magical alchemy, transforming sweet tea into a tangy, fizzy elixir full of probiotics and postbiotics. If you can make a cup of tea, you can brew Kombucha.
Quick-start instructions:
• Boil 1 litre water
• Mix in 60g sugar
• Steep 9g black tea for 10 min
• Cool to room temp
• Transfer Sweet Tea to glass jar & add the contents of package
• Cover with a breathable cloth hat
• 1st Ferment 5-9 days at 23°C (Min) 28°C (Optimum)
• Reserve 200ml liquid & SCOBY for next brew
• Bottle remaining booch
• Flavour if desired
• 2nd Ferment 3-7 days for fizz 23°C (Min) 28°C (Optimum)
• Refrigerate to stop fermentation
• Enjoy cold
• Start again!
